My Belief, as well as my training as a Clinical Social Worker is that we always start where the client is….that means that you will lead our journey together. I am a relationally based insight oriented therapist. What does that mean? Central to the relational therapy approach is the idea that we are shaped by our social world and relationships, and that having healthy relationships is essential for our well being and self esteem.
We all heal in connection! Therapy provides a healthy, safe relationship between client and therapist to allow vulnerability and healing.
I make no assumptions about you or your journey. I will rely on you to educate me with your story at the pace that feels safe to you. I will encourage you, nudge you and challenge you to explore your thoughts, feelings and beliefs, but ultimately it is up to you where we go on this journey.
Insight oriented therapy encourages clients to analyze and understand how events of the past create current behaviors, thoughts and feelings. We cannot change something without an awareness of where it might have originated from and how it may or may not serve us in the present.
I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist. I use the therapeutic tool know as Brainspotting to help you process the struggles that you cannot think your way out of.
I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a mind body approach. What does that mean? It means we will look at your thoughts and your expectations and we will see if they are reasonable and how they affect your feelings and your behaviors. Energy follows thought!
Through dedication to trust filled conversations and mind body work, you will go through a process of enlightenment with me.
I am a nurturing, compassionate, trust worthy therapist with a sense of humor that will put you at ease. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and live a full life!
