Working with clients on their respective grief journeys is my passion. I believe that grief in our culture is misunderstood and that the importance of honoring our losses is vital to our long term health and happiness. No one travels this life without experiencing losses. Some are more natural than others. Natural losses include children growing up and leaving the home, retiring from a beloved job after several years, a beloved elderly person passing away after a long full life. Natural, yet still very painful and deserving to be honored. Unnatural losses are a young widow or widower, a parent grieving the death of a child, a tornado leveling a home. Unnatural losses feel unimaginable to manage, yet the resiliency of the human spirit can grief and heal from all losses. How? By honoring your loss, giving yourself the patience and time to heal. Most importantly, by sharing the journey with others, we heal and thrive in connection. We are capable of holding both pain and joy. Grief recovery does not necessarily mean that we stop grieving, it means that our grief becomes more manageable with time and intention. It means that we can hold the pain and honor it, while also allowing joy into our lives.
