I approach each individual client, or family, with the assumption that they are coming to me with an intention to alleviate some discontent or suffering. I believe in the healing power of relationships. As a counselor, I provide the opportunity for you, the client to safely process and articulate your current challenges. Together we can facilitate change to enhance the enjoyment of life.
I believe that serious mental illness does exist, however, I understand that many individuals seeking counseling do so to deal with life challenges that are not a result of mental illness. Sometimes we need an empathetic professionally trained counselor to guide us on your journey. This expresses my belief that I am not treating illness as much as enhancing strengths, assisting in the development of self awareness, and freeing you to make more life-affirming choices and leave destructive or negative patterns behind.
